perhaps you should have asked this before you bought it? I suppose you can't go wrong with a G-Loomis.

The question is
What are you using it for? What fish?

1- Bottom fishing?
2- Live bait?
3- Tossing iron?
4- Vertical (yoyo jigging?)
5- Light trolling?

I think that can be used for all the above
May not be the best for all individually but
Is a versatile set up, but not a killer deal
for that, se the dodoman
his the one with the steals

A good deal for $200 but not an ideal combo. The Torium 14 is a good 20lb reel. You could fish it on the Loomis but I'd get a different rod for the 14. A great rod would be a Teramar TMC80MH. It's rated @ 15-30. It's a good rod and cheap at $129 or so. A Torium 16 would be a better reel for the Loomis backed with 50-65 lb braid and you can top shot it with 25-40 lb depending what your fishing for. A lot of people fish the 16 with 40.

Well put, Al. I love my terramar and it's seated with my T14, thanks to you

Alex, I think you got a good there buddy, just think about selling the rod and putting the $$$ towards a Terramar. It is a nice rod after all, can't go wrong!

I have a teramar and I love it for tossing big surface iron. I'm not 100% sure what you're looking to fish for with this combo, but the way you have it setup right is good for flylining bait.
