Yellowtail Report

Went to the island on Wednesday, it was good on our way to San Pedro but as soon as we got there it got really windy and foggy...the drift was too fast and strong that it was hard to jig....we started fishing at 7 am and it wasn't until about 11 am that we had our fisrt hit and landed a nice 24.6 lbs YT. We decided to head back but then we saw Pilo bottom fishing for red snapper, he I tied my biat to his and started bottom fishing, we landed a few small fish and a nice red snapper:

The wind started to slow down and at about 2.45 p.m. we decided to try the south end for one very last drift, as we were positioning the boat to start our drift we had a call on the radio from the boat "Bob-a-Roo" who we had in sight like 200 yds from us telling us that the fish were bitting just where they were, we headed there and as soon as we dropped our jigs we had a double, next drop anothre double, next drop a triple and so on. We fished the very same spot from about 3 to 5 pm endind the day with 15 nice YT, half of them on the 25 lbs range and all the rest from 18 to 20+. A slow morning turned into a spectacular afternoon of fishing. At 5 pm they were still bitting but we had more than enough fish and decided to quit. for the 5 of us on the boat it was a great day and we all agreed that the thing that made the difference was the friendly and unselfish call from "Bob-a-roo". So we'd like to say a big THANKS A LOT to them again for turning our very last drift into a great afternoon of fishing.

I have the cash for the boat
I need 2 or 3 more guys to go with me
and share gas money food hotel room

Get the wife's permission for 4 days total
if we drive fishing 2 days

3 days if we fly fishing one day

Or we could bring the wives along
as a fishing/ 2nd honey moon

Ediie...another great option is May...we can go really early in the mornin and chase YT on the surface at the island, from 7 to 10 am and after that start trolling south to chase dorado, Marlin, Sailfish...all 4 species are a real posibility in early May.

If you charter 2 day I'll throw in the 3rd day for free....and
