So you ordered it already, but now you're looking for reviews? Aren't you supposed to do that BEFORE you buy something? Lol

The 140 gives you a reading of 10 bubbles more
than the 130

Good one Fish Taco,

Louie, the only difference is that the 140 is color. the resolution and the power is the same. Also the 140 is out of stock at the factory and is not supposed to be available until March 2008. But some one like BPS may have it. I would stick with the 130, a much better value. That piece of equiptment , if you acutally do buy it, will be the most valuable fishing tool in your arsenal. Once you get used to using it you will not get on a lake with out it. It is more important tool than any rod or reel you own.

The Humming Bird units are widely used and reilable. Just pull the trigger and buy it.

WALT , im more confedent now that you posted up. THANKS.
im debating with the 130 or the 140 ( in color ).
the 130 has the 4in screen , though the 140 is 3 1/2in.

will the color make a difference?
would it help to i.d. certain fish?

THANKS WALT/

The color won't help you tell what kind of fish it is. None of the fish finders can distinguinsh fish species, so just stick with the 130.

I don't know why they call them fish finders, they should be structure finders... locate structures and you'll find the pescados!

Should work Louie!! Remember, look for structure and bait. I'd turn off the fish ID so you can concentrate on the the more important stuff. Get a 12 v battery from a hobby shop, usually around $20 with a charger and a water proof box anf your golden.

Louie, listen to your buds above.

Everyone has your best interest at hart. And just to confirm the color cannot define temperature or fish species. The 140 color screen is also 1/2 in smaller on the diagonal. They do this in order to increase the pixel density so the color will appear sharper and brighter for better viewing in bright sun light. Both the 130 and the 140 have a screen resloution of 320 X 240 so you would get a little sharper image with the color but then again the screen is smaller. As suggested above I would stay with the 130 as a better value for the buck.

This is the most important tool you can acquire for fishing fresh water. A worth while investment.
