Got out yesterday to the same creek, I put on a dirty roe 8mm troutbead and on my first cast I hooked into a fish. Got it in and it was a ncie 12" Doly. Then on about my 3rd cast I got another, about the same size. Started out pretty good! I waded downstream and fished a bunch of different holes. Caught a lot of salmon smolt.
The Silvers are definatley just about done with there run, the rain is still bringing in some fish but most of them are red and just about to spawn. I have caught several pretty fresh Silvers out of the holes.
Here is a picture from yesterday, it was muddy where I was fishing and the fish was splashing up a storm:
Today I fished the same spots but had no luck with trout. I caught one salmon smolt when I tried. It was more of a Silver outing then anything. Most of the Silvers were spread out now because of the rain but I was able to find some very good holes towards the end of the day. I hooked a couple nice Silvers, hardly any red and one big one that had no red on him. Didnt land any because they all kept getting off.
Good days on the water, and plan to keep going every day this week!
