I saw on the news tonight that the CA dfg cant pay to put any smolts in the holding pens in port san luis. I know there are thousands of people who pay hard earned money so we can fish and don't mind because of the good conservation that money goes to. I find it hard to believe they cand deliever their smolt to the central california salmon inhancment program. I think they should also make it even harder for us to catch the ones that are out there. Maybe we should only be alowed to use one barbless hook, maybe even size 12 or smaller. Or maybe cut down on there wardens, I am yet to see a warded who cant afford to miss a meal.

they just cut 38 wardens completly... now what they need is more to cut back on the illgals fishing...rather illigaly in the US or Illigaly fishing without there licence!!!!

Well here is were your money goes when you buy a fishing lic. Approx 75% goes into the general fund, and the other gets divided up among several projects that the Fish and Game has in progress that has been mandated by Law. Now the 75% that goes to the General fund is used to pay Salaries for the Wardens and syuch along with the medical and retirement, All legal and a good thing . Then a lot is used to help pay for the welfare and medicasl aid given to the illegals here in the state who again illegally fish for our paid for resorces and now that the state is going broke again we are in deep dodo. So here is what I say might help this problem out, VOTE Conservitive and remove the spinless lib's in office now.

but i do believe he,s was talking about people who are GOOD FOR NOTHING.
if 75% is going to payroll, THEN THEY NEED TO GET THERE @$$E$ OFF THERE HIGH CHAIRS AND CONTROL WHATS GOING ON OUT IN THE WATERS.

Glad you could see my point. You bet your arse I'm pissed about the intricacies of the monetary management of our license money. 75% is a pretty substantial amount of money when you consider the number of licenses sold on a yearly basis.

As with most big business, most the money gets funneled and remains at the Administrative ranks and thus the little people (wardens & the like) who actually do the dirty work are stuck with underpaying jobs and get the short end of the stick when money becomes funny.

The best thing to do is educate the uninformed and report the blatant poachers. That's what I do! Do I sleep that night knowing someone's stuck with a big @$$ fine? You bet betcha' and a restful sleep at that.

i catch and release 95% or more of all my catches, depending on if im fishing salt or fresh.......

its the conserving and protecting our waters that help.

im more pist about them ( terminator ) for cutting back on badly needed staffs.

i for one , and many others like us cant do it alone.

Mickeysindahous, Where did Bigdee say anything about Mexicans. It sounds like you are the racist, and what did Bigdee say that was incorrect. Maybe before jumping to conclusion, you should read his post more carefully.

Not at all Cashe. I agree that I threw in the Mexican twist myself. If you read carefully I state that "the common stereotypical thoughts such as the ones expressed by Bigdee more often than not immediately point and label that category as "Mexicans." Perhaps it's an insecurity of mine, but as I said, for the most part when individuals make comments such as his, that's who they refer to.

I'd like to clarify that I am in no way racist, as I have grown in LA and mingled with and made great and best friends with people of all races. From Afro Americans to Koreans, Caucasians, Indians, Pakistanis...and the list goes on.

Again, I apologize if I offended anybody, including Bigdee. It's just he hit one of my soft spots.

I am just upset about the salmon enhancment program gettin the ax. As a conservative, mexican who has a small boat and two downriggers the salmon are close to my heart.
