Delta this year. - California Fishing

I wanna take a trip to the Sac-SJ Delta this year but i have never been there and i need to get aquainted with the area. would i be best suited to get on a charter? if so. Anybody know a good one? Sturgeon would be nice or if i could catch a salmon run. Season?

There is so much water to fish in the Delta, you will need a GPS to keep from getting lost.

Yea, a guide or someone that know the delta is recommended!! There's a ton of sloughs(sp) and other back waters you could get lost on real easy unless your bank fishing. While your up there, you need to try and get into the striper action!!

I used to fish the Stockton and Tracy areas of the Delta. There is some great LMB and striper fishing there! Like everyone has said, it's easy to get lost in the Delta. Everything looks the same! I would recommend a guide, if you've never been there. Or a good GPS system.
