THE TRIP THE WIVES ARE PIST ABOUT

DODOMAN, FISHTACO, CATFISHSLAYER ,WE ALL GOT YELLED AT AFTER THIS TRIP.

IT ALL STARTED AT 4:00 am ,as we headed towards colorado river.
it took us 2 hrs to get there ( no sweat ) had a good conversation about mickey, lol. this made the ride alot quicker , it felt like 1/2 hr.

ANYWAYS, we meet up with Wayne at the B.B.TACKLE on 8th ave.
(tripped on the sign for a bit) he was very helpfull with tackle info, and had us loaded with shiners and big gold fish for bait.

we asked were to fish, and he pointed out a few good spots.
we first headed to palos verde deversion dam.

the clarity of the water is so clean , i wanted to swim in it.lol
we threw swim baits and with no luck of the elusive stripers.
fish taco did see catfish swimming in the shallows.

so we packed and headed out to the next location, THE LOOP/MCINTIRE PARK
we named it the loop , only because of how the back waters was in formation of a loop.

heavly brushed and pretty hard to cast w/out snagging on a tree or what else.
so we packed again and headed south to palas verde (town).
there is a dirt road that travels along side the river, we just followed it until we found a deep spot to fish ( the river is at low water level at this time).
most of the river is sandbarded and really shallow , im talking 2 ft deep.

so we did find an area that was deep enough to fish.
taco went with the swim baits again, and so many hits came along with it.
TACO, MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH A SMALLER SWIM BAITS.
CATFISH SLAYER , FISHED THE MACKERAL , and hes hooked on somthing big.

he fought for 1/2 hr or so, and i had the camera ready, after drag pulling drag, the unknown fish ( we are assuming a fat flathead ) get the line caught up in the rocks. we,ll we all know what happens after....... .

THE DODO, went with fishing the shiners/goldfish, and hooks up a nice bass( lmb) and was brought up for pictures.

taco, once again fished his but off to eliminate the SKUNK.
he used,,,

weedless jigs
pencil popper
powerworms
tady
ironman
salas
hudds
castiac
bill lewis
troutkillerz
chrome sinkers w/hooks
lippripperz
powerbait
chovies
bill dance special
swimbaits
rapalas
braids
bass worms
holographic somthing
engine oil
kastmasters
mepps
kalins
cordell
yozuri
storm
ospery
rattle l
soft bait
hard bait
optimum
phobes
roboworms
all in all, the man did his best. I BOW TO YOU, TACO.

after a few hrs, we had taco convienced , WE ARE STAYING THE NIGHT.
so we packed our stuff and headed towards the dam area.
we did a quick lunch and few beers.
we reloaded our arsenals and fished the lake.
on our arrival, i saw a school of stripers in the 10-15 lb class , SWAM RIGHT BY ME, freak, $hit, damb, stumbled and fell, to run up to get the swimbait rod.
I WAS SO OVERWHELMED WITH EXCITMENT, I HAVE SPOOKED THE STRIPERS..

back to setting up the chairs and finishing this trip off in comfort.
we spent the most afternoon EXPLORING NEW AREAS TO US, WE HAVE COVERED ABOUT 30 MILES OF FISHING AREAS, and know we are going to finish the evening at the lake.

no one wasted time, as you can see LARGEMOUTH hiding in rocks and shrubs.
the water clarity at the lake is clear.
so i went back to artificials, taco did the same, catfishslayer ( the usual , MACKERAL/ HOG $HIT.

CATFISHSLAYER , had many bells ringing but no hook set.
TACO, WORKED HIS BUTT OFF AGAIN.
DODO, did three different combination. 1) swimbait rod 2)catfish rod
3) flyrod.

the phone on taco has rang and taco announces its time to go.
WE SWEATED taco for another 1/2 hr.

we,ll when we all got home , all our happy wives were HAPPY to see us.lol
if mickey had came with us , it would have been 4 wives.lol

overall, we did not cover enough areas, the river as we all know, travels forever.
so the next time we head out, we are camping for a few days.
so much water , so little of time.

as usual, HERE ARE SOME PICTURES.

Yes, if was a fun exploratory trip to the river
we spend most of prime fishing hours of the morning
at the stores, getting licenses food, and driving
along the river for hours up and down the town
when I saw a small spot forming at the end of a big sand bar
and told the guys we're better stop and do some fishing,
that's when the dodo hooked the bass
wtih line bait on a 3 way swivel , a must for winter
and saw the stripers swimming by,

so finding the spot of a new place takes time, and balls,
instead of going to the same spot you know is good.
(More balls to face the wives after 500 miles on the truck and delivering it all dirty and smelling like a mix of tabaco and macarell, worm, anchovie and skunk )

But we did find a few spots for day and night fishing .
we were out of the house ia beautiful location, while otheres where
at the computer and cleaning dishes and other chores.
