reading pier waters

on thurs i went bak out to the pier and notcied the waves were ALOT bigger. the water also looked a little murkier than before and it looked like sand was mixed in.

the point is the week b4 i caught 2 calicos but this time, i caught some differnt fish. No calicos however. Was the sandy water a factor?

Yes it was. You will usually find different speicies a fish in sandier water. For instance, you'll usually find more sand bass for some reason in sandy water. Where there a lot of those being caught that day?

no, the bottom was all weedy. and kelp was plentiful. I guess it was just the waves that kicked up the sand a bit. also there were seals so i guess that was a factor as well.
