SHORTYS ( CUSTOM RODS )

I HAVE RECIEVED QUESTION ABOUT SHORT RODS.
SO WILL LIKE TO POST PICTURES OF THEM.

THIS ROD IS MADE BY WHOPPERSTOPPER. ED FROM W/S DO A VERY FINE WORK ON HIS CUSTOMS.
I HAVE ALL MY RODS WRAPPED BY W/S FOR OVER 20 YEARS NOW, AND I HAVE W/S BUILDING ME A FEW MORE THIS YEAR.

THE SHORTYS ( CALSTAR BLANKS ) ARE SPECIFICALLY MADE FROM THE CALSTAR MANUFACTURE FOR WHOPPERSTOPPER.
THEY ARE NOT CUT DOWN TO SIZE, I DO BELIEVE THEY COME IN 2 RATING ...THEY ARE WS1 AND WS2.

THESE RODS ARE GREAT FOR YAKKING AND BOTTOMFISHING.
I ALSO USED THEM FOR TUNAS.
A GREAT REEL BY SUGGESTION WOULD BE A 500 CLASS.
SO, IF ANY MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE RODS , JUST ASK.

OH, THERE ABOUT 3 FT LONG.

YOU CAN FIND WHOPPERSTOPPER AT THE UPCOMING FRED HALL SHOW.

Howzit Dodoman,

Any idea on how would the minis do as jigging rods for vertical/deep jigging?

vertical jigging may be okay, but your not going to get the long sweep effect.

if your dropping a ling cod jig , with short stroks, id say it would work.

but i have not tried it yet on the jigs.

great for heavy fish.

ed showed me a picture of a 400 lb plus black sea bass, and many tunas on the rod.

it has a firm tip but just perfect for just about anything.
now if your looking to throw a jig 2 county distance, then you better get a longer stik.lol
