plans for the 1st Annual "HUSF.com Trout Derby 2005"

Attention HUSF.com members and Trout anglers:

HookUpSportFishing.com and the California Custom Angling Co. have teamed up and are in the middle of designing and planning the :

"1st Annual HookUpSportFishing.com Trout Derby 2005" -Kern Valley Open

The derby will not be exclusive to HUSF.com members, it will be considered an "open competition" accessible to all anglers abroad. It is being designed and planned by the California Custom Angling Co. and will take place sometime around late April /early May 2005, the actual dates have not been decided as of yet. The fishing resort/ hotel which will act as base camp and which will also host all opening and closing ceremonies has been chosen but the location will not be revealed until public advertising begins for the derby. CCAC has chosen one of the best fishing resorts in the Kern Valley for this event, it's quite an amazing place.

The Kern Valley has been chosen for this 1st annual event. Derby fishing locations will include the eastern and western forks of the Kern River as well as the northern section of Lake Isabella. The Derby will take place over three days (Friday, Sat., Sun.) in which two of those days are competition days
with the first day(or should I say evening) being for check-in and a mandatory "rules and regulations" meeting.

The Derby will consist of 3 seperate legs of competition in which the total weight from each stringer of catch (DFG limit five per leg) from each leg will be calculated to one total.

Promotions and advertising for the Trout Derby will be done within various sport fishing magazines and periodicals such as - W.O.N.(Western Outdoor News); California Fly Fisher magazine; NAFC magazine; etc. with a possibility of the OLN TV fishing show "Trout Guys" and or PBS, covering the derby.
........so you see, there will be oppurtunity for anglers from all over California and possibly out of state, to have the chance to enter the competition. The advantage to being an HUSF.com member is that you guys will have the first opportunity to register for your place in this competition a couple weeks or so before it gets publicly promoted; because, the Derby is limited to the first 30 anglers to register.....that's right, only 30 anglers! After the first 30 anglers, that's it.

All of the specifics have been loosly work out and everything should be solidified and ready for registration in the next two months. Entrance fees for competition in the Derby are not solid yet but will range roughly between $325-$400 per angler which will include:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Competition Fee,
Room and accomodations for the entire length of the Derby(single occupancy, unless you double up with another competing angler),
Continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday,
Lunch vouchers for Saturday and Sunday,
Dinner voucher for Saturday
Closing ceremony celebration BBQ dinner on Sunday, and.... (1) "HookUpSportFishing.com 1st Annual Trout Derby 2005 -Kern Valley Open" commemorative T-Shirt;
plus various perks and side contest prizes through out the derby.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"HookUpSportFishing.com 1st Annual Trout Derby 2005 -Kern Valley Open" will present competing anglers with roughly $20,000-$25,000 in cash winnings and prizes.
Some of the Sponsors (tentitively) will include:>>>

Aquafina water,
Pit Bull energy drink,
California Custom Angling Co.
Western Outdoor News
Sport Chalet
Uncle Wes's Custom Trout Lures,
Dick Nite Lure Co.,
Damon Rods,
Lip RipperZ trout worms,
Bear Paws Custom Bait Co.
Fly Tyer's Pro Caddi
Stream Works

And more.............

We'll keep everyone posted so keep a look out.

Serious HUSF.com members need only inquire...
Thank you.
