Shimano Curado 300 DSV

So in my re tooled arsenal I needed (really wanted) a Curado 300. It's a low profile baitcaster that you can toss surface iron and heavier jigs. Drags are rated at 15lbs which is rediculous for a low profile but perfect for our California inshore species!! Just got it the other day so I'll have to mess with it more. Has a lot more pieces then the AVETS. Will be mounted to a 7'6" Shimano Clarus that I have laying around. I'll test it at the ducts since I haven't been able to hit the coast. I'll post a pic when I get some ne batteries for the camera. As with the AVETS, my inital impression is really high. Very smooth real and light and fits in my hand pretty good. More to come after I use it.

Sweet reel I've caught yellows and albies on mine. I actully like it better than my TE,. The rod you have yours on sounds a little light, probably should put a 200 on that rod.

Actually, the rod is is a heavy action rod. Could I go with something better?? Deffinately!!

Been using this sucker for awhile now at the ducts. Overkill but casts great and deffinatly handles the schoolies. Changing the brake configuration is quick and easy. The only thing I think could be improved is the level wind. Works fine but seems like it could go if your pulling on something really big. We'll see how long it lasts. Overall I really like it. Can't wait to try it on the yak!!
