cool. were probably going to camp next to the lake and were mainly going after cats anyways. sorry for these repetitive questions but whats the best hook size for a plain old 3-5 lb. cat? i heard people use 6/0??!?!? (on any size cat that is) wtf?
anyways....from the last redondo trips i got 1 bonito fillet (some guy gave me a dead one ((thefish))... was going to use it for bait ((at the pier)) but decided to save it)lots of mack and smelt fillets. should i use a whole fillet like or like how most people do it, in chunks. what size chunks though? thanks.

I would use a #2, #4 or baitholder hook and a sliding sinker on 8-12lb test, if you are getting a boat you might want to upgrade to 15lb line...they have some huge catfish in there. What bait are you using?

Frozen salted anchovie chunks will work also chicken liver, if you use hotdogs make sure you buy the really cheap ones made out of pork, chicken and beef mixed together.
