San Diego or Baja Fishing Recommendations
Hey fellas,
Got a get out of jail free card for this weekend (Sat & Sun) and my buddy & I would like to catch something big. With that said, I'm thinking either San Diego or Baja!!!!
Anyone have any recommendations to any of the landings or fishing spots out in that direction?
I was thinking of checking out Castro's Camp, but have never been and don't have sound directions. If anyone's got directions to Castro's please share...as we will gladly reward you with pics upon return.
If you're free and would like to join, consider this an open invite.
Thanks all!

Be carefull driving through Mexico. There's been a few gun point car jackings of fisherman the last month by so called "cops". Might be to late to jump on a long range boat this late in the week. Good luck!!

It happens down there(in Baja) all the time. If you have any surfer friends that have been down there, ask them for some of their horror stories.

F'n great! What sucks is that one would think that my brown skin would help me talk my way out of it...NOT!!! They're bigger punks with their own kind than outsiders.
I figured that since they had the Army or whatever the hell they call them that it would be cool now. I have had bad experiences myself in the past, but with local cops. I guess it's no different.
I'd hate to lose my $$$ and rods/reels to some prick who had to hold a gun to my head to earn my property.
Well...how about some San Diego Recommendations???

san diego has a great fishing fleet. h.m. landing, point loma, fishermans, seaforth.you can hop on any available overnighter.
15 south, 163 east, 8 west, get off rosecran, follow for a few miles till you see bunch of hotels.make right into the area , you cant get lost. everyone there knows were its at, just ask.
the grande , indian, first string, are all reasonable priced boat.
there are a few other, just cant remember there names at this time.
h.m. landing carrys more overnighters.
its wide open albiecores right now, rumor of 100 lb bluefins are here with the 20 mile school of albies.
call 1619-222-1144 , they have great info on whats going on.

Dunno that I have the right gear for Albacores, let alone blue fins. Right now my Torium 30 is at Sav-On pending pickup from my lazy @$$ after a Carbontex upgrade. So for now I've only got a Torium 14, Torium 16, Cardiff 400 (LOL) and a Penn 500, I think. Other than that, I've got a Baitrunner 6500 (Spinning). I don't wanna hop on an Albie Boat looking like a total noob either... How are their rental setups? Maybe I can just do that.

Yah, that'll keep us all entertained in case the bite is slow. Maybe we can troll him along or have him chum the waters with his special garden made sauce.

Thanks for the offer. If I'm in the area I'll hit you up. Still pending confirmation from other fellas so we can do Baja Ca. as a group. So this is still in the making. I just wanna have a Plan B, C & D depending on where we end up.
