redondo pier...

well i went to redondo from 12-4.pm today. i had to do stuff so i left early. the fishing sucked. nothing like last time. every hour out of maybe 230+ fishing "people" , only 50 of them caught a fish. mainly a mackeral or sardine and occasionally a bonito or hali. i had the best spot. me, some about 15 year old kid and a small family were next to me on both sides. we were the only ones catching so called "fish" i dont even know if they should be called fish. well i went for bait. so yeah.. all we caught were smelt, macks, and occasionally someone near the beginning of the fishing part of the pier would catch a near 13" halibut. total i caught were 17 smelt, 19 macks, 1 small bonito (released), and 2 tiny hali's at maybe 9" and 11".

(yes i came back from oregon... stupid car got jacked up but my dad found out that nothing was wrong, only thing was the battery was messed up and that screwed up the startup?!??! oh well. ill have all the reports up soon but im still tired and lazy )

nah. since we had to cut our trip short because the $(#@($@% week of rain, we decided to go home and was going to try out the eastern sierras but might go to a nearby place such as irvine or ln. about the macks- they were teeny tiny things lol. i fillet them and put them in a bag and in another bag i put the head tail guts etc. since i heard they were great bait too. im going to try them for catfish. im going to be testing myself which works the best (or maybe its just that day...) going to use shrimp, macks, meal worm and marshmallow (heard that works good) and im going to try them all with and without an attractant called "Hawg Wild" or something like that. heard that works great.

Question Letr's go fishing

Grsymits here, I will be in Torrence for about 4 or 5 days seeing my grand kids. I would love to get together and catch some fish. I fish weekly in Utah on Strawbery Resovior but have never tried it in Ca. Tell me more about what I would need to bring and how far up the beach the peir is from he Goood Stufff resturant in Redondo. We leave Thursday mornig to come down let me know if this would work into your schedule.
Thanks ,
Grsymits
P.S tell me about the fishing license for non-resident cost? Yeah I really don't know anything about Ca fishing.

Rain??? what do you have one of those cartoon clouds over your head that follows you around? I have not seen any rain in months in the "O.C." And if I ever see 250 other anglers I am going someplace else, I would go nuts with that many people crossing my line, playing their crap music, stealing my bait etc.
