Bear Creek 9.14.07

The girls had a half day of school today so I took them down to the creek to do some fishing. Last time we were there, a storm had filled in the entire pool with gravel and downed trees. Luckily, we had another storm come through that washed out all the debris! As soon as the car stopped, the youngest was out and had her lure in the water.I didn't even have time to get out and she had her first fish of the day. A 7" LMB. Nice way to start! bear-creek-9-14-07-9.14.07-bear-creek-001.jpg All three of us caught about 10 LMB, 10 sunfish and a few spotted bass each. None of the sunfish were bigger than 6". Biggest bass was about 8". We did see a couple larger bass roaming the shallows but they wouldn't bite. I caught one fish(can't remember the name of it) that went 9". We had a blast, spending the afternoon together. Chartreuse/glitter, watermelon/red flake and pumpkin pepper were the colors of the day.

Fly Fishing.... is an Art....
There is a pretty good fly fishing club out in Long Beach...
the Fly Fishing Club of Long Beach....
They meet at a Park in Long Beach on 7th Street and PCH... Really Close to PCH... and they really have a club house.
I also believe they have a website.... if you are really interested...
My nephew was interested at one time and we looked into it....

Right On....
Good going... Building the Fishing Crew..... of tomorrow...

My mystery fish was a Stoneroller, it's just about 2" longer than they are supposed to get. Maybe I should send the pic to MODOC.
