norcal albacore report

just couldn't stand it any more. a sick mother-in-law, a stressed out wife, kids starting school, short staffed at work, reels piling up. what's the answer? right! go fishing!

i launched my boat out of half moon bay and took a 2 hour and 25 kt run to a seamount called the guide. we stuck a dozen albacore and called it a day. nice to get out on the water again. this was my first tuna ever on the new boat. it ran perfectly, right down to the new flir thermal imaging camera.

Nice...was the water a little rough?

Down here it's pretty warm, but even in Winter I tend to wear shorts and you guys are wearing wet weather gear and performance PFD's...almost like you were in the Pacific Northwest...also, is that a custom transom setup? It's pretty cool that you can fit a kill box, right below the fairly large cutting board and just leave it there while the boat is moving. I don't see an external bait tank so I'm assuming you don't have anything larger than a 28 gallon tucked away somewhere. FLIR? Your boat seems setup more like a Six-Pac
