Last weekend we went for a little trip up to Denali National Park to do some wildlife spotting on a 6 hour tour bus. There is one road in and out of Denali and not much traffic goes through. Lots of animals in this park, just the only bad thing was we went in the heat of the day. We were riding a school bus on a gravel road in the heat. Wasnt to bad but it was pretty dusty. We did manage to see some wildlife. A wolf, some caribou, doll sheep and the state bird, the tarmagen(spelling?) After that we headed up to Seattle Creek. I set up with a BHPTN and a strike indicator. First cast, a Grayling tried to snatch it. Next cast another, then on the thrid cast a fish was hooked. A fairly nice size, maybe 11". They are pretty fish, and look really cool. We fished about an hour more and I caught 5. Hope to do it again some time! Below is some pictures od Denali and the Grayling:
Good job on the grayling. They are a blast on light line. I remember the last time I was up in Alaska and they were like crappie. Throwing mepps spinners it was one a cast.
I did get a picture of a wolf but its on another camera that I dont have. It was fun, just the smoke made the moutains nearly invisible in the day. 5.5 million acres burning as of like tuesday.
You should have taken a picture with the dorsal fin up showing how big it is, cool fish dude.
