So far I'm game to go, left the yak in my backyard all week so it's all greased up and ready to go! I also picked up a couple more of those graphite rods I liked that one so much. Hope Mark and Vince make it, the 4 of us in a skiff sounds like a accident waiting to happen!

I'm sorry guys, but the NBBVP (National Blonde Bikini Virgin's for Peace) already invited me to the campout. They said I can camp along just as long as I can share a 6 person tent with them. I have to say nay Brian, sorry.

Freshwater bass gear is fine, six to ten pound test line. Bring some three and four inch grubs, swimbaits and 1/4 to 1/2 ounce jig heads. Spinnerbaits and Rapala type stick baits will also produce along with the usual dropshot minnow baits.
If we end up splitting a rental skiff they should have live bait so you may want to bring some size #2 or #4 live bait hooks or circle hooks along with some sliding sinkers.
Brian, you up for a rental if Mark can make it?

Mark, if Russ and Co. are going to drift fish, then you can bring a fly rod with a sinking line and just drag a white fly (hint, hint)...it doesn't matter what weight rod if you're mooching (that's what it's called when you drag your fly around by letting the wind push you)...just twitch the fly appropriately...if you use a floating line, when you twitch the fly, it'll tend to rise off the bottom, but you have to let it settle back down to the bottom after twitching, and make sure you maintain contact with your fly...halibut, you'll set the hook no problem, bass you'll have to set the hook hard unless you're hooks are sharp, and even then, set the hook hard. Don't be surprised if you catch a baby WSB.
I was thinking of kyaking Huntington Harbor but I might shadow you guys, just so I won't miss the hijinks :P

Skiff guy doesn't give live bait anymore. You have to go the bait barge and purchase it. Give him a tip and he'll refill you!! Skiff guy does give squid though!!
