Rather than make the drive to the Eastern Sierra for opening weekend I thought that I would make an overnight trip to the upper Santa Ana and Jenk's lake.
I will be driving up on Saturday morning and hopefully grabbing a site at the 7 Oaks resort & campground, then I will spend the rest of the day fishing the Santa Ana.
Sunday I will head up and check out the water level at Jenk's (I am hoping the parking lot will be open by then), if the lot is open and the water looks good enough I will spend Sunday tubing this little jem in practice for my Memorial Day Sierra trip. If the lake is a bust I can always head back down to the river for the day, plenty of water to explore there...
