Hey sorry my response is super late. If you're still up in the area, you can go to Halfmoon Bay to surf fish. There are lots of little beaches off the highway 1 going from Monterey to San Francisco.
If you want to go to a local fresh water spot, in Morgan Hill is Anderson Reservoir, in Gilroy is Coyote Reservoir and a bunch of other spots. PM me if you need specifics. Again hope you are still in the area and checking posts!
