Actually I use conventional gear when appropriate. The fly gear would've worked but I needed casting practice and I unlimbered a reel that I got in December but haven't used it since I got it. I figured I needed to dial it in, but I just set the brakes on maximum and left them there...I still got a rats nest or two but I was casting...Oh, I'm not impressed with the Cuda line that I was using, too many "coils" in the fresh line...I opened the spool and wound it on my reel on my way to the lake...if that isn't "fresh" I don't know what is...
